Dr. Dheeraj Kapoor is an Endocrinologist in Mumbai, with over a decade of experience in medical practice in the United Kingdom and India. He is currently a Consultant for Endocrinology and Diabetes at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai.Dr. Kapoor did his initial medical studies (MBBS) at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Wardha. He then went to the United Kingdom for further studies. Over a period of 11 years in the UK, he completed his postgraduation, studied/trained in the field of Endocrinology, and served as a Consultant Endocrinologist. He was also actively involved in clinical research, and co-authored many of the scientific papers that emanated from this research; these have been published in peer-reviewed, indexed journals of international repute. Dr. Kapoor's breakthrough work on the role of testosterone in the pathogenesis and treatment of Type 2 Diabetes in men has been published in major international journals and has also been covered by the Reuters news agency.While in the UK, Dr. Dheeraj Kapoor taught at the University of Sheffield, as a faculty member of the Academic Unit of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism. On return to India, Dr. Kapoor worked at Apollo Hospital in Bangalore for a year before joining Ambani Hospital in November 2008. Dr. Kapoor is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK), a member of the British Endocrine Society, and a member of the Indian Society of Endocrinology. He is currently a reviewer for Diabetes Care, an American journal on diabetes.
